Solar Reminders

Follow the event, not a fixed hour.

Sunrise moves. Golden hour moves. Sunset moves. Your reminder can move with them.

A rule attached to nature.

A Solar Reminder is attached to a canonical event for the selected place. It is not merely an alarm saved at today's civil-clock time.

Choose the event.

The current reminder system supports sunrise, solar noon, sunset, morning and evening photographic light events, and civil, nautical and astronomical dawn or dusk.

Choose the lead.

You may be notified at the event, ten minutes before, thirty minutes before or one hour before. The event continues to follow the changing solar calendar.

Quiet by default.

The present product direction uses ordinary local notifications without a badge, critical alert or time-sensitive interruption level.

Permission only when needed.

Opening the Instrument or inspecting an event does not request notification permission. The request appears only after you choose to enable a reminder.

Polar and missing events

When an event does not occur on a particular date, SOLAR skips that occurrence without inventing one or deleting the user's rule.
